Entrtainment On Cruise Holidays

03 January 2011

Cruise holidays have become increasingly popular over the past decade and, when you know more about the never ending list of what is available to do, see and experience onboard you'll understand why. From sun rise to sunset and into the wee hours of the morning, when you're on a cruise holiday you'll never be short of options to keep you entertained.

And this fact is most especially true of the wide selection of evening entertainment options on offer throughout all of the well known cruise lines.

When day time turns into night, whether you're on a short ‘taster' length cruise or a long duration round the world trip, chances are you'll still never find enough time to fit in everything you want to do onboard. At night, your first choice is where to dine – whether it be in the main dining room, a deux, as a family or with a new group of friends, or in a speciality restaurant or at the casual buffet? Once your dining choices have been made – both where, when and with whom, you can think about the rest of your night. On a cruise ship you'll need to think about whether to have pre dinner drinks in your stateroom or in one of the many bars inevitably available on board. Then you'll have various productions to choose from, like the main show of the evening which may offer pre or post dinner choices – plus all the smaller acts such as musicians and comedians who'll be performing at various times and locations on your ship.

A selection of the newest ‘mega' vessels offer evening entertainment that is even more mind blowing and spectacular than many guests could imagination. From West End style production shows to the Blue Man Group, Aqua Theatre performances to Ice Shows from ex-Olympic ice skaters, there will be something to keep everyone entertained if the right cruise holiday is booked, and your travel agent or cruise specialist can help you with that if you're not sure.

You can keep an eye out also for special ‘themed' cruises which will often feature relevant evening entertainment options which have been additionally added to that particular cruise, and famous acts or people who are booked for ‘one-off' shows to attract cruisers to that itinerary.

There will also be evening classes available with many of the well known cruise lines such as wine tasting, or ballroom dancing. Plus, you'll find a selection of audience participation games, art auctions, karaoke, bingo and for those guests who haven't tired themselves out in the day, the well-equipped gym facilities are often available until reasonably late in the evening.

And if all that isn't enough to whet your appetite or convince you that you'll never be bored in the evening on a cruise holiday, then you could always consider a itinerary which features one or more late night or over night stops in port to give you time to experience evening entertainment ashore and soak up the night time atmosphere of whichever fascinating city or town you are currently docked at.
