Far East Itineraries

Far East Itineraries

17 November 2011

Far East Cruises have a multitude of itineraries and lengths. The Far East can include countries like China, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, India, Malaysia, and South Korea, as well as exciting cities such as the city-state of Singapore, Jakarta, Phuket, Mumbai, and more. The destinations are so fascinating and gorgeous that you might have difficulty deciding where to head first. Use some of the information below to help you decide what to see.

Fly-Sail Itineraries

Far East itineraries tend to be longer, because the distance travelled is much greater than a Caribbean or Near East cruise. However, shorter itineraries are available if you fly to one of the cities in the Far East and embark from there. For example, if you fly to Singapore and take a cruise from there, you can see amazing places like Vietnam, Hong Kong, Xiamen, and Shanghai. This type of tour means that you have adequate time at each port of call to see some wonderful sights, explore the area a bit, try the local cuisine and make some amazing memories.

Longer Itineraries

Other itineraries might require that you fly to cities a little closer to home, such as Barcelona, and then sail for longer periods of time. For instance, after flying into Barcelona, you could then cruise to Egypt and through the Suez Canal to Dubai, India; Malaysia; and Kuala Lampur, before docking in Singapore and flying home from there. Because the first couple days at sea allow you to slowly acclimate yourself to the new time zone, sailing a bit longer can help alleviate your jet lag. You can also relax and get settled aboard your ship, enjoy the food and activities there, and begin your holiday before you even reach your first port of call.

Extended Itineraries

Cruising is so popular that many people opt for a longer cruise with more ports of call. Cruises as long as ninety nights are available, so there are plenty of options to suit your preference. You can choose a cruise-only tour, or a fly-and-cruise tour, or even put together a tailor made cruise schedule that combines several aspects into the perfect holiday for you or your family. These cruises may explore less-travelled areas like Komodo Island, Ujung Padang or Probolinggo, that are usually missed on shorter itineraries. Extended itineraries offer an outstanding opportunity to see secret corners of the world at a leisurely pace.

The Far East is a magical, mystical land, which explains why cruises are so popular as a means of travel. You can have all the comforts of home without the cooking or cleaning. You can see ancient wonders at one port, and vibrantly dynamic cities at the next. You do not have to live out of a suitcase. There is no end of things to do aboard ship or on land. Cruise ships offer everything you could want in a holiday, all at your fingertips. Cruising is growing in popularity for a very good reason. Once you try it, you will be hooked.
