Sailing with P&O Azura

Sailing with P&O Azura

10 January 2012

P&O offers passengers a chance to sail the Azura, one of the company’s largest ships. The ship is exquisite and offers a modern line of luxury like no others. On board passengers will be entertained with a variety of restaurants, bars, live entertainment, spa facilities, sports venues, dancing, relaxing and themed entertainment across the ships three enormous decks. If this is your first time cruising the P&O Azura, you may be looking for a few tips on how to make your unique cruise holiday the best it can be.

What Types of People Can I Expect to Meet On-board?

There are many types of people that enjoy P&O cruises. The company does not attract only one type of typical passenger so it is realistic to expect to meet all sorts from families, couples and singles to a mixed aged group. P&O cruises are always a very social and exciting atmosphere.

How Much Luggage Can I Bring with Me

This is a common question with travellers, especially with first-time cruisers. The answer is simple. If you are flying to your destination port, your baggage allowance will be restricted by the airline however, if you are sailing with P&O to and from Southampton, there is no baggage restriction. If you can fit it in your cabin, you can bring it.

What Types of Clothes Should I Pack?

Cruising with P&O is meant to provide guests with a variety of experience. It is for this reason that daywear is normally quite casual. Wear comfortable shoes for land excursions and other exploring opportunities. Enjoy your favourite swimwear or summer gear for the climate of warm destinations. Be sure to bring eveningwear for the dinners. This style will vary by ship. All P&O ships require formal to semi-formal evening wear for dinner however, passengers sailing on Oceana or Ventura can enjoy a slightly more relaxed evening wear of smart casual.

How Do I Get to the Ship?

Another common question that is best answered before leaving home. The majority of P&O cruises leave from, and arrive back to Southampton. Passengers from Southampton can easily arrange for coach transfers straight across the UK to see them to their destination port. Those driving can take advantage of the terminal parking. Passengers from outside the UK will need to make flight arrangements to the closest regional airport. Transfers to the ship are normally included in your fare.

Main Destinations and Ports

If you’re never been on a cruise you may be wondering where the destinations will be. That’s easy. When you choose your P&O cruise, simply read the list of ports. These will also be your destinations where ship passengers will disembark and head to shore for excursions. Your shore excursions can be booked ahead of time on-board the ship or through your travel agency. Once your ship makes port, passengers usually have a full day to explore. Most ships will dock between 7 am and 10 am and leave port between 4 pm and 6:30 pm.
