Cruise lines increasingly luring gamers with top- end technology gadgets

You might be surprised to find outlearn that a lot of people pay thousands of pounds to go on a cruise holiday, only to spend a large percentage of their time on board surfing the iInternet or playing online games. Cruise lines are well aware of this phenomenon, which is why they are continuously upgrading their wWi-Ffi speeds and using technology to keep their passengers occupied and happy.

Royal Caribbean, for one, has recently decided to make sure all thoseits on-board gamers are happy by upgrading the technology behind its Iinternet services. The cruise line plans to fit its cruise ships with what it refers to as 'Voom sSatellite iInternet';. Apart from that in addition, there will be a dedicated Xbox video game game lounge on board its vessels will now also get a dedicated Xbox video game.

ProvisionInitially only three of the company's ships will be equipped with the new technology: Quantum of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas.

Royal Caribbean is not the only cruise line to respond to the demand for improved high-tech services. Disney Cruise Line is also moving ahead with improvements in thatis field, with quite a few of its entertainment features specifically targeting gamers. A good example of the company's approach is the Disney Infinity games room.

Disney also offers a separate engine room brimming with all kinds of Star Wars video games, including a Holochess table. And tThere is also a life- sized reproduction of the Millennium Falcon's space-aged cockpit.
