An increasing number of people are opting to take
cruise holidays, it has been reported.
Figures from the Passenger Shipping Association (PSA) show that almost 1.5 million people took a holiday at sea last year.
The Daily Mail reported that ten per cent of package holidays booked in the UK last year were cruises.
It was also revealed that people are spending more time at sea than ever, with the average cruise now lasting 10.4 nights.
Commenting on the figures, PSA director William Gibbons said: "These figures reflect the exceptional value offered by a
cruise holiday. Its inclusive nature, with meals, accommodation, entertainment and of course multiple destinations, means its great value."
In related news, it was reported recently that luxury cruising has never been more affordable.
A spokesman for the Cunard Line told the Daily Mail that cruising onboard one of its luxury liners only costs around ten per cent more than taking a break with one of its rivals.
