Those looking for an extra-special
cruise holiday this year should consider a break with P&O or the Cunard Line.
Travel site Cruise Critic has compiled a list of the most luxurious suites at sea, with P&O''s Aurora penthouse accommodation being singled out as a top choice for holidaymakers with some spare cash to splash.
The elegant duplex suites span two decks and both feature open staircases, a full bath, dining facilities for six, guest powder rooms and two balconies. One of the suites even features its own library, while the other boasts a grand piano.
Cunard Line''s Queen Mary 2 was also singled out as a good choice for those seeking luxury accommodation.
The Balmoral and Sandringham suites come equipped with private gym facilities and sunning decks.
Carolyn Spencer Brown, the website''s editor in chief, commented: "Most cruise suites come with concierge services, priority embarkation (and disembarkation) and preference when making reservations for alternative dining, spa treatments and sold-out shore excursions."
Figures released recently by the Passenger Shipping Association show there has been an 11 per cent increase in the UK cruise market in the last year.
P&O Cruises are available from only £199 per person
