Travellers taking
cruise holidays onboard two of
Princess Cruises'' ships will be able to witness the results of millions of pounds of refurbishment.
A £14 million makeover of the Caribbean Princess and the Golden Princess has just been completed, rejuvenating the apartments, restaurants and other facilities.
The Daily Echo reports that the work has resulted in a huge boost to Hampshire-based outfitting firm Maritime Services Corporation UK, which increased its workforce from six to 130 to undertake the contract.
Robbie Saggars, managing director of the company, said that the refurbishment project was the largest in the history of
Princess Cruises.
"This was massive for us and one of the biggest we have taken on to date. Across the two
Princess Cruises jobs there were 750 people involved, including 130 from the UK," he told the newspaper.
The news comes as
Princess Cruises revealed that it is collaborating with historian and film critic Leonard Martin to launch a new movie club.
