While many people opt for cruises to more exotic destinations, it is sometimes forgotten that there are great cruise deals on offer nearer to home.

For instance, P&O is offering a 2-night weekend cruise to Brugge next year from just £230 per person. This is a great ‘try out' or short break cruise.

Sailing on the 25 th March 2011 guests travel on the Ventura, which is a family-friendly ship, from Southampton to Brugge then back again.

If you fancy something longer then P&O is offering a 7-night British Isles and Western European cruise, with prices starting from £671 per person for an inside cabin.

Guests voyage on the P&O Azura sailing roundtrip from Southampton on 21 st September this year. There are many great onboard drinking and dining options including Michelin starred chef Atul Kochar's Indian-fusion restaurant, Sindhu along with The Glass House, a wine bar.

Fares are based on an inside twin stateroom being shared by two people. The price includes all main meals, entertainment and childcare if required. Guests also receive £25 credit to spend whilst on board.

Two other cruise deals are on offer. One is a 4-night mini Ireland cruise onboard Royal Caribbean's Independence of the Seas. It sails from Southampton on the 28 th August 2010. Prices start from £419.

The other is a 5-night France cruise on Fred Olsen's Black Watch. Sailing from Southampton on the 31 st August prices start from £459 per person for an outside cabin.
