The Aurora and the Arcadia are currently both on world cruises and their Brisbane visits were part of the original cruise schedule. The Arcadia will dock at Brisbane on the 15th of February 2011 and the Aurora on Sunday 27 February 2011.

Carol Marlowe, managing director of P&O Cruises said that the company had a long affiliation with the Australian market and that the Australian visit played a very important role in the overall experience of their world cruisers.

He went on to say that P&O felt it to be important to support Australia in this time when their support is needed so much. He went on to say that “Our thoughts and best wishes go out to people of Brisbane and we will be doing all we can to show our support as they recover from the floods”

The company will ask all passengers to donate any Australian dollars they don’t need to help with the Brisbane rebuilding process. Money raised from the sale of navigational charts will be donated to the same cause by the P&O Australia fleet.

Brisbane has always been a popular port of call on P&O world cruises and passengers are expected to contribute generously towards the Brisbane rebuilding fund. Stake holders in the UK cruise industry have expressed their appreciation for the P&O announcement.
