Celebrity Cruises has announced that no less than four of their new Solstice Class ships will cruise the Mediterranean during 2012. The line-up will be completed by the Celebrity Constellation, a ship that has been converted to Solstice class with the introduction of a Tuscan Grill steakhouse, an ice-topped Martini bar and a Bistro on Five creperie.
Cruise passengers can look forward to a number of new overnight stays, as well as a total of eight new ports. These include Fuerteventura (Canary Islands), Koper (Slovenia), Skijolden (Norway), Ravenna and Catania (Italy), Bari, Akureyri (Iceland) and Klaksvik (Faroe Islands).
The honour of being the first ever Celebrity Cruises ship to offer cruises between Venice and Rome goes to Celebrity Silhouette. The ship will offer a number of 11 and 13 night cruises between the two destinations from May to August 2012.
According to Celebrity Cruises, these trips will be “port intensive” with more time spent in ports than on the open sea.
Starting mid-August, the Celebrity Silhouette will offer a number of tours to Israel departing from Rome. The duration of these cruises will be between 11 and 14 days each.
Celebrity Eclipse will sail from Southampton during the 2012 summer season. It will offer four different 14-night cruises to the Mediterranean, Iceland/Fjords, Canary Islands/Azores and Scandinavia/Russia. The ship’s new Baltic season will now also include trips to the Norwegian Fjords and Iceland, which will be combined with an overnight stay in Reykjavik.
Celebrity Constellation will cruise from Amsterdam during the 2012 summer season, offering cruises to Scandinavia, Russia, the Arctic Circle, Norwegian Fjords, Greek Islands, Turkey, Israel and Egypt.
Celebrity Solstice will be based in Barcelona for the season, sailing to the Mediterranean.
Celebrity Equinox will be based in Civitavecchia (Rome) and embark on a number of 10 and 11-night cruises to the Eastern Mediterranean.
