The agreement was announced on the opening day of a major Milan tourism conference, the BIT International Tourism Exchange. AC Milan vice-president and CEO Adriano Galliani and the CEO of MSC Cruises, Pierfrancesco Vago, were both present at the news conference.
Part of the extensive mutual promotion program is a cruise on MSC Cruises’ flagships, the MSC Splendida, which will be entirely devoted to members and supporters of the AC Milan Football Club.
The maiden Crociera Rossonera cruise (named after the team’s colours) will depart on 5 June 2011 and end on 12 June. On board will be a host of happy AC Milan supporters as well as a number of team members. Activities on board will include feature tournaments, training workshops for young players and a wide array of never-to-be-forgotten entertainment options.
In an interview Pierfrancesco Vago said “This agreement continues to link MSC Cruises to one of the most successful Club’s in the world, something I am so very proud of.“
MSC Cruises is of course the biggest cruise line operating in the Mediterranean. They have a total of 11 luxury ships – including the MSC Fantasia and the MSC Splendida, the 2 largest ships ever constructed for a European cruise line.
