P&O Oriana First to Get Marco Pierre White Dining
11 March 2011
The name of the Marco Pierre White restaurant will be the Ocean Grill. A Marco Pierre White restaurant will also open on P&O’s cruise ship Adonia during May. The third ship of this trio, Arcadia, will get a similar restaurant when it is refurbished late in 2011.
The new child-free Oriana will also feature Sorrento, a brand new Italian restaurant with lovely views of the ocean as well as an outdoor dining section. The Oasis Spa on board the ship will also be refurbished.
Diners will have to pay a cover charge when dining at the Ocean Grill. Dining at the Sorrento carries no extra charges, except for certain items, which carry a surcharge.
Carol Marlow, Cruise Managing Director at P&O, said that Marco Pierre White dining has proved to be hugely popular with their passengers. “Recent research has shown that passengers want an entirely different Select dining experience to that offered elsewhere on the ship and they also want a contemporary style.”
She continued to say that the Oriana, Adonia and Arcadia will usually undertake longer trips, during which the menus at their Marco Pierre White restaurants will be evolving constantly to make sure guests are presented with a wide variety of foods during the course of the cruise.
