The Best Cruise Lines for Solo Travellers Revealed
11 March 2011
During the first golden era of cruising, cruise ships provided every possible convenience to the solo traveller. During the last two decades however, cruise lines have often shied away from catering to single travellers due to a perception that this area was not a very lucrative market.
Lately, many cruise lines have started to realise that there is a huge untapped market segment represented by solo travellers and they have come out with offers specifically aimed at this group.
The CruiseLineFans website provides valuable information about which cruise lines are the most solo-friendly and how solo travellers can make their next cruise more fun and adventurous.
According to the website, P&O Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Lines come out on top as far as catering for solo travellers is concerned. Both these lines have created dedicated cabins for single travellers and their pricing system also does not discriminate against this type of cruise passenger.
P&O Azura has a total of 18 cabins for solo travellers, all of which are situated on Deck 18. All single traveller cabins are relatively spacious with a total size of 130 square feet, and there are both inside and outside cabins available. Every studio is equipped with a single bed, a flat screen television, a vanity table and a private bathroom with separate shower.
