The company’s Freedom of the Seas recently spent a week in the dry-dock to be fitted with hi-tech advancements such as Wi-Fi, electronic mustering, electronic waivers for sports activities and interactive TVs.
Other new features include:
3D movies – the ship’s Arcadia theatre now offers cruise passengers the opportunity to watch both the latest releases and golden oldies in 3D.
Outdoors LED video screens - these huge 18.5 feet video screens adjacent to the main pool area will screen educational programs and movies throughout the day.
A cupcake shop – The Cupcake Cupboard is a 1940s style shop that will offer a wide range of delicious cupcakes every day. Cake decorating classes will also be presented and passengers will be able to order specialty and even custom cupcakes.
Wine lounge – The Vintages wine lounge on board the Freedom of the Seas has been completely redecorated and features a large range of top quality wines. It will now also offer a unique automated serving system.
Electronic positioning system – passengers will now find LCD and Plasma touch screens throughout the ship to help them find what they are looking for and to inform them about the latest entertainment options on board.
