The latest addition to Celebrity Cruises’ fleet, Celebrity Silhouette, was spied in public for the first time after it left the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. A large number of residents in the area lined up to get the first glimpses of the ship, which is the fourth in Celebrity’s stylish Solstice Class fleet.
The Silhouette will go on its inaugural cruise in July. It offers a whole range of experiences and venues that are firsts for the cruise industry.
Apart from the Art Studio, one of the new venues is the “Lawn Club Grill,” an interactive experience where passengers can choose and grill their own meats under the guidance of expert chefs. Alternatively they can have it grilled to order.
The private cabanas were specially designed to deliver a relaxing experience. Called “The Alcoves,” they are all equipped with Wi-Fi.
The Porch is an informal dining spot where passengers can have coffee and sandwiches, all while enjoying the views of the ship’s lawn and the ocean on the horizon.
Something quite unique is The Hideaway – a private, quiet area that is reminiscent of a tree house; here you can relax and meditate without being disturbed.
Celebrity Cruises is one of the fastest growing cruise lines in the industry. Its fleet consists of nine ships at present, with an additional two Solstice Class ships on order. The Celebrity Silhouette will be delivered in July this year and the Celebrity Reflection in 2012.
