Celebrity Cruises plans to convert three more of its cruise ships to the Solstice class after the success it enjoyed with the Celebrity Constellation. The three ships are Celebrity Summit, Celebrity Infinity and Celebrity Millennium.
Celebrity coined the term “Solsticizing” to describe the company’s $120 million project to convert the four ships into a new class offering a similar ambience and design to its widely acclaimed Solstice Class ships.
To illustrate the company’s ongoing commitment to provide passengers with an unequalled cruise holiday, some of the highlights of the Solsticized project include adding Aqua Class accommodation – the company’s trademark relaxing spa-inspired cabins with private verandas.
Other highlights include the elegant specialty restaurant Blu with its Mediterranean theme, which is for the exclusive use of AquaClass passengers; plus the extraordinary specialty restaurant Qsine and the modern and upmarket Celebrity iLounge.
Celebrity CEO and President Dan Hanrahan says “This is an incredibly exciting initiative for us – and more importantly, for our guests, as indicated by their response to our already-Solsticized Celebrity Constellation, whose ratings are consistently through the roof.
He added that the Millennium Class ships had a huge dedicated following. The ships have received top rankings from some of the world’s most esteemed consumer surveys. Their ambiance, style and design inspired the design of the Solstice Class. The company was now taking the initiative full circle and within the next two years the entire Millennium Class will be given the Solstice treatment. That means the whole Celebrity Cruises fleet will offer facilities that are at the forefront of modern cruising technology.
