Not all of us are fortunate enough to enjoy a cruise on a luxury cruise ship. Although cruising has become relatively affordable lately, many of us still find it beyond our means. For those on a budget there is now the opportunity to at least have lunch on board one of these luxurious hotels of the sea.
Cunard is offering a limited number of lunches on board their luxurious cruise liner the Queen Mary 2. The best part is that you will, at the same time, be raising funds for a charitable cause – the money goes towards The Princes’ Trust.
The lunches are being auctioned on the well known auction site, eBay.
Bidding for a lunch for two people at the moment stands at £250. If a lunch at that price gives you heartburn, there is always the second option: lunch on board the QM 2’s sister ship the Queen Mary, where bidding has currently reached £200.
Cunard is also auctioning off some other items to raise money for the same trust. There are, for example, two tickets to see the well known Shakespeare play Richard III at the grand Old Vic theatre in London, as well as a reception where you will be able to meet the cast. Bidding starts at £500.
If you are really short on funds, but you would still like to do your bit for charity, there is still a chance to bid on Cunard leather passport holders, pens and books for around £20 to £30.
Rather more expensive, but well worth the money, are two prints of the ships framed by Clarendon Fine Art. These are true collectors’ items and bidding starts at £500.
