NCL Cruises’ Norwegian Dawn has received a major facelift at a drydock in Freeport, Bahamas. The refurbishment will cost several million dollars.
The 2,224-passenger cruise liner returned to service last week in Boston, where she spends the summer season.
Refurbishments
The ship was fitted with 58 new staterooms and suites, including four Deluxe Owner’s Suites that range in size between 732 and 687 square feet. Fourteen new family suites were also added. These have balconies and vary in size between 452 and 408 square feet. Most of them sleep six adults.
Ten large family suites, ranging in size from 495 to 409 square feet, all with private balconies and sleeping six adults, have been added, plus another 18 inside staterooms have also been provided.
All guest and crew staterooms have now been fitted with flat screen televisions.
The place formerly occupied by the Tex Mex Restaurant Salsa has been converted into a new specialty restaurant called Moderno Churrascaria.
The Art gallery, gift shop, conference centre, photo gallery, Blue Lagoon Restaurant and the Spinaker Lounge have been completely renovated and relocated.
The Dawn Club Casino has also been renovated. It boasts a new layout, different furniture and new carpets.
The Teen Club and the Kid’s Crew have undergone a complete refurbishment and now offer a more versatile layout to cater for a wider range of age groups and interests. New sound and light features, activities and game systems have been installed. There is now also a room for the under two age group where they can have fun while being accompanied by their parents.
