After spending three weeks in the dry dock, Royal Caribbean’s Radiance of the Seas has completed a $19 million revamp. The ship has received various upgrades to ensure it remains desirable and relevant in an increasingly competitive cruise market.
A few of the upgrades include new entertainment options, restaurants, children’s features and technological advancements that were initially developed for Royal Caribbean’s newer ships Allure and Oasis of the Seas.
The company’s Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations, Lisa Bauer, is confident that the upgrades will be well received by guests. She said “The Royal Advantage comprises some of the industry's most innovative onboard amenities, programs and Gold Anchor Service that make up the most contemporary cruise vacation.”
The ship has been fitted with a brand new nursery called Royal Babies and Tots. Twelve new staterooms were also added – six exterior cabins, five interior ones and a family cabin.
Wi-Fi internet is now available throughout the cruise liner and all staterooms have been fitted with flat-screen interactive TVs. Guests now also have a brand new Concierge Lounge and Crown and Anchor Society members have their own Diamond Lounge.
The new Quill and Compass Pub will no doubt be highly popular among passengers, as will be the outdoor LED video wall that overlooks the main pool area.
No less than seven new restaurants have been added. These include the Boardwalk Dog House for hot dogs and light snacks, Giovanni’s Table for Italian food, Izumi for sushi and other Asian food, the Park Café for light meals, Rita’s Cantina for Mexican fare, a Brazilian-style steakhouse called the Samba Grill and an exclusive top class restaurant called Chef’s Table.
