If you are a cruise fanatic but you simply cannot spare the time – or dare we say it, the money – for a complete world cruise, Holland America has just the thing for you. They have broken up their cruise ship the Amsterdam’s 2012 Grand World Voyage into eight segments that should be within your reach, both time and money wise. The segments vary between 13 and 50 days each.
Richard Meadows, the cruise line’s Executive Vice President, said “We understand that not everyone has 112 days to sail on a Grand World Voyage, so we divided the itinerary into eight fascinating and exciting segments that highlight the best of each region.”
The Amsterdam’s full Grand World Voyage is a majestic 112-day cruise holiday that departs from Fort Lauderdale in Florida on the 6th January 2012. From there the ship heads westwards to explore the Caribbean.
After that it is on to South America before heading for the South Pacific. Australia is next, followed by a visit to the Far East, India and Europe.
Some of the available segments are:
• Fort Lauderdale to Buenos Aires. An 18-day tour of the Caribbean and the east coast of South America.
• Buenos Aires to Sydney in Australia. Explore Antarctica, sail around Cape Horn, and visit French Polynesia before heading to Sydney.
• Sydney to Mumbai in India. Explore the Great Barrier Reef, Komodo Island, Hong Kong, Angkor Wat, Cambodia, The Great Wall, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Sri Lanka and India.
• Mumbai to Fort Lauderdale. Sail through the Suez Canal, visit Greece, Italy, Spain and Madeira before heading across the Atlantic to Fort Lauderdale.
