The person who has just won the Euromillions lottery walks around with a ticket worth more than £161 million. That is enough money to instantly turn him (or her) into the 413th richest person in the UK – nearly on a par with Victoria and David Beckham.
With the winnings that person would be able to buy an island in the Bahamas, and still have enough change left to buy a Boeing to get there.
Now that you know how much £161 million is, you will have a better idea of how much Royal Caribbean will be spending over the next three years on upgrading its older ships to bring them in line with their flagship, Allure of the Seas. The company will in fact spend nearly double that amount (£300 million) in the process.
The money will be used to upgrade ships in the Vision, Voyager and Radiance class. All of them will be fitted with Wi-Fi throughout, as well as huge TV screens outside and on the decks and flat-screen TVs in the cabins.
All the ships will now get a nursery for youngsters below the age of three and extra facilities will be added to family cabins.
The ships will also get a number of new restaurants, including Chops Grille Steakhouse, Rita’s Cantina, Park Café and Boardwalk Dog House.
Adam Goldstein, the President of Royal Caribbean, says “The Royal Advantage revitalisations takes many of the best features that we have created in recent years and introduces them across our fleet.”
