Carnival Cruises has made some fun changes to the company’s Facebook page to inspire would-be cruise passengers to get in the Caribbean mindset. It also offers visitors a first peak at their new “Fun Ship” the Carnival Breeze.
If you visit their Facebook page and click on the Carnival Breeze tab, you will suddenly find yourself in a world of exclusive offers, fun social experiences, giveaways and videos – all while getting to know the 130,000 ton Carnival Breeze a little bit better.
The Breeze will depart on its maiden cruise in June 2012, so there is still time to book your place on that historic voyage.
The virtual laboratory includes a section where visitors can explore the new ship’s public areas. This is quite appropriately called “Meet the Carnival Breeze.”
The whole aim of the online project is to convey that sense of “fun-atics” that will be the focus of Breeze once she hits the seven seas.
For every visitor who joins the Facebook group “I will Live the Carnival Breeze Life,” Carnival will make a $1 donation to a charity with which it has very close ties: St Jude Children’s Research Hospital – one of the top international centres for research into and treatment of paediatric cancer and similar terminal childhood diseases.
The Chief Marketing Officer of Carnival Cruises, Jim Berra, had this to say about the campaign “We invite visitors to regularly explore all the fun, interactive experiences and videos about Carnival Breeze and island life on our Facebook page and celebrate the tropical lifestyle whether they’re on board a ‘Fun Ship’ or in their own backyard.”
