If you love cruise holidays and you also love good music, you can now experience the two together: Cunard has announced a brand new 4-night winter cruise on board the company’s flagship Queen Mary 2, where none other than the award-winning four tenors of the pop group Blake will be performing.
The cruise will leave from Southampton on the 8th December. Ports of call include Zeebrugge and Le Havre. With ticket prices starting at only £599 per person, you will have to look hard for an excuse not to see your favourite tenors in action while enjoying the luxury of the Queen Mary 2.
The announcement comes only a couple of days after P&O Cruises announced that the highly acclaimed classical singer Russell Watson will perform on their cruise liner Arcadia.
The president of Cunard, Peter Shanks, said: “We have been able to introduce this extra pre-Christmas sailing because Queen Mary 2’s planned refit in November can be completed in less time than we allowed.”
He added that passengers on this particular voyage will be the first to benefit from significant upgrades the ship will undergo when she visits the dry dock at the end of November.
In other cruise news that will have many would-be tenors singing with joy, Fred Olsen has announced that its internet usage charges will be reduced significantly. It will now only amount to 20p per minute, regardless of the amount of data downloaded.
All four of the company’s cruise ships – Black Watch, Boudicca, Braemar and Balmoral – have an onboard internet centre.
