Many Brits will still remember Gareth Gates. In 2002 he was the runner-up to Will Young in the very first Pop Idol competition. Later on he played the lead role in the West End musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. He has since released several hit singles and has sold more than three and a half million CDs in the UK alone.
Gates has now been signed up by P&O Cruises for three performances on board their cruise ship Oceana in September. He will perform in the Footlights theatre, which has a capacity for 500 guests.
He will sing some of his most popular hits, including “Anyone of Us” and “Spirit in the Sky,” as well as his rendition of “Unchained Melody” – which ended up being the second biggest seller of the last ten years.
After each show guests will have the opportunity to be photographed with him and to get his autograph.
The round-trip mini-cruise leaves from Southampton on the 3rd September and will visit Zeebrugge and Bruges on the way. Balcony cabins are still available from only £406 per person sharing. This does not only include all meals, but also the Gates show.
According to Carol Marlow, MD of P&O Cruises “Gareth is a worldwide pop star and we are very excited to have him perform on board Oceana. We are sure he will be a great hit with passengers on this weekend cruise.”
Gareth is very excited about his performance on board Oceana. He says this will be his first time ever on board a cruise ship and that he is sure it is going to be an amazing experience.
