Those of you who have previously cruised on board a Norwegian Cruise Line ship will know that the sushi bar has been a fixture on most of the company’s ships for quite a while. It will usually be found in the Asian restaurant, which of course carries quite a hefty surcharge.
On the Norwegian Epic the company has lately been experimenting with an a la carte sushi menu.
The good news is that NCL is to expand the a la carte sushi menu to all its ships with immediate effect. No longer will sushi lovers have to pay the Asian restaurant surcharge – every item will have its own price.
The menu will feature sashimi, sushi, light meals and desserts. Guests will be able to customise their meals with a variety of dishes costing as little as $4. Appetisers include sesame seaweed salad, miso soup and edamame. When it comes to sushi, diners can choose from the Dynamite Roll (maki tempura style, green onion, salmon and yellowtail) and the Godzilla Roll (coconut, cashews, avocado, mango and sweet shrimp).
The a la carte sushi menu will be rolled out to the whole NCL fleet within the next three weeks. Norwegian Dawn will be first on the list, followed by Pride of America, Norwegian Star, Norwegian Jewel and Norwegian Jade. Norwegian Spirit, Norwegian Pearl and Norwegian Gem will follow a day or two later and on the 5th October Norwegian Sun will become the last NCL ship to get an a la carte sushi menu.
