Royal Caribbean Cruises announced its 2012 Asia itineraries on Tuesday. The company will deploy Voyager of the Seas in the region – the biggest cruise ship and also the one with the best amenities to ever sail in Asia.
With a gross tonnage of 137,276, Voyager of the Seas is one of the ten biggest and best equipped cruise liners in the world. It will offer cruise lovers unequalled experiences in the Asia region.
The Voyager’s maiden Asia season will commence in Singapore on the 26th May next year, followed by cruises embarking from Shanghai and Tianjin in China.
Royal Caribbean’s Group Managing Director for Asia and China, Dr Zinan Liu, says “Customer demand is strengthening and we’re responding by increasing our commitment to the region with an additional, bigger ship, to offer a wider range of itineraries to even more ports.”
Voyager of the Seas will join Legend of the Seas, which has been sailing from China since last year. This means Royal Caribbean will offer no less than 49 cruises embarking from China next year. Xiamen will become its fourth home port, after Hong Kong, Tianjin and Shanghai.
The Executive Vice President of Royal Caribbean Cruises, Michael Bayley, called this decision a milestone for Royal Caribbean and a sign of the company’s commitment to and confidence in the cruise potential of the region.
Voyager of the Seas will provide cruise lovers with a choice of cruises, ranging from three-night mini breaks to 18-night cruises to Australia and New Zealand.
