Carnival Cruise Lines has announced it is going to spend millions on a new programme called Fun Ship 2.0 that brings about a dramatic transformation in the way guests experience their cruise holidays.
They will be provided with a host of new entertainment options, more lounges and bars, and many new dining options.
The first phase of the project alone will cost £325 million and be completed by the end of 2015.
The company will partner with
- Hasbro, to offer passengers a variety of larger-than-life game shows.
- EA Sports, who will create the first EA Sports Bar on any ship.
- Guy Fieri, the star of Food Network, who will be responsible for developing Guy’s Burger Joint – a brand new hamburger venue.
- George Lopez, who will be responsible for the improvement of comedy clubs throughout the Carnival fleet.
The company has also appointed DJ IRIE as the Official DJ of Carnival Cruise Lines.
Carnival’s ships will in future also have more branded spaces, such as the Bluelguana Tequila Bar, RedFrog Rum Bar and 3 other lounges and bars – all with a fun theme. A new casual dining option by the name of Bluelguana Cantina will also be introduced.
The president of Carnival, Gerry Cahill, said “Fun Ship 2.0 is the largest and most ambitious initiative that our company has ever undertaken and it will serve to significantly transform the Carnival vacation experience for our guests.”
The first Carnival ship to feature many of the new venues will be Carnival Liberty.
