Celebrity Cruises will in future work with health and wellness authority Rodale to provide passengers with a new range of interactive activities with the common theme of “healthy eating choices.”
The new activities will make use of Rodale’s extensive experience in the field of health and wellness. The first range of activities will be developed around Rodale’s series called “Eat This, Not that” – which of course ended up on the New York Times’ list of best sellers.
The version we will see on board Celebrity ships involves an interactive trivia game that tests passengers’ knowledge of healthy food. The aim is to promote ways to make sensible and healthy choices when eating out.
“Cook This, Not That” will involve a cooking demonstration that shows how to cook meals that are just as nutritious and taste just as good but contain fewer calories.
“Drink This, Not That” is a similar exercise, except that this time it revolves around drink not food. Passengers will learn how to serve up cocktails with all the great taste their guests want without the calories.
One of the longest running publications from the Rodale stable, Celebrity and Prevention magazine, is in the process of developing a new range of activities that focus on wellness. These will include enrichment talks led by a panel of experts from the health and wellness industry.
Rodale Integrated Marketing’s Senior VP, David Marchi, said “Partnering with Celebrity Cruises is a smart and entertaining way to extend Rodale’s health and wellness mission —now guests can enjoy our passion for wellness while relaxing and enjoying the best Celebrity Cruises has to offer.”
