Cunard’s Princess and Queens Grills Suites are renowned throughout the world. The latest Berlitz Complete Guide to Cruising and Cruise Ships recognised this fact by awarding Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the category for Top 10 Large Resort Ships. This firmly establishes Cunard as the leader of large luxury ships worldwide.
Queen Elizabeth has of course just celebrated her first year in service. Her captain must no doubt be proud to see her officially join her illustrious sisters on the list of the world’s top large cruise liners. Shortly after Queen Victoria joined the Cunard fleet in 2009, the same honour was bestowed on her and sister ship Queen Mary 2.
The president of Cunard Line, Peter Shanks, said “An experience in our Princess and Queens Grills is like no other. Douglas Ward’s recognition of the intimate and elegant experience that we provide is a valuable testament to our hallmark White Star Service.”
The Grills experience dates way back to 1936, when Verandah Grills were first introduced on the original Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary. They were designed to be the pinnacle of style and comfort, and offer luxurious, spacious suites, intimate gourmet dining and a personal concierge service – a tradition that continues until the present day.
There’s more to the Grills Suites than that, of course. Passengers also enjoy world-class spas, voluminous libraries, a guest enrichment programme, a white-gloved afternoon tea service and glamorous entertainment by night.
