There is only 100 days left before the new-look Swan Hellenic Minerva emerges from the dry dock after a major upgrade – and those who have become fans of the ship over the year are holding their breath in anticipation.
The Managing Director of both Hebridean Island Cruises and Swan Hellenic, Colin Stone, says that everyone at the company is wildly excited about the new ship and the many years of cultural discovery cruising that lies ahead.
He says there has been an exceptional amount of interest in the ship’s emergence from the dry dock ever since Swan Hellenic made the announcement of her upgrade in September.
Stone added “Passengers awaiting Minerva’s return in 2012 can look forward to experiencing her renowned hospitality, tailor-made shore excursions and enlightening programme of Guest Speakers.”
The ship will emerge from the dry dock 100 days from now virtually new. Some of the major changes include extensions to both the external and internal public areas. Minerva will now also boast a brand new wrap-around observation lounge called the “Orpheus Lounge”, which will be a place to relax in the utmost of comfort while enjoying panoramic forward views.
Innovative redesign will also see a bigger Shackleton’s Bar. The ship will, in future, also have a brand new Internet Lounge.
Swan Hellenic has also decided to add balconies to 32 additional cabins, thereby increasing the number of balcony suites to around 23% of all stateroom accommodation on board the ship.
Last but not least, every cabin on board the Minerva will get a brand new en-suite bathroom.
