If you are lucky enough to be on board Boudicca in January when it embarks on a 36-day Caribbean cruise you will regularly rub shoulders with three sporting legends that represent two of the UK’s most popular sports – football and darts.
Former darts champions Cliff Lazarenko and Keith Deller along with the former manager of Arsenal and Spurs, Terry Neill, will entertain passengers throughout the cruise as part of Fred Olsen’s popular programme called Vistas.
Boudicca sets sail from Southampton on the 19th January 2012 for a relaxed 36-day journey to the Caribbean Islands. On the way she will first dock at the evergreen Canary Islands. Ports of call include Curaçao and Barbados, Colon in Panama, Cartagena in Colombia and Montego Bay on the intoxicating reggae island of Jamaica.
The ship’s next destination will no doubt also be one of the highlights of the cruise for many passengers: an overnight stay in the Cuban capital Havana – a city, steeped in romance and history.
This part of the itinerary is completed by three more Caribbean islands: Caicos and Turks and then the small island of St. Maarten. After that the ship begins the long journey back to Southampton, broken only by a brief visit to Ponta Delgada in the Azores.
The “Sporting Personalities” theme will undoubtedly be very popular with many guests, but for those with different interests there will also be “Handicrafts” and “Pottery” themes.
Starting at less than £3,479 per person, which includes all entertainment, port taxes and meals, the cruise represents excellent value for money.
