Cruise lovers all know the feeling: you’ve just returned from a cruise and you just can’t get yourself to concentrate on the humdrum routine of “normal” life again. All you want to do is to get back in the cruise mood.
With people such as you in mind Princess Cruises has now decided to launch its very own radio station on Pandora Internet Radio – enabling you to get in the “cruise mood” whenever you feel like it, whether you are on a cruise or not.
As far as we know this is the first time a cruise line gets its own radio station. You can even choose from among three different types of music, depending on the mood you are in. There is “Relax” for easy, soothing music, “Rejuvenate” for up-tempo lively sounds and then there is “Escape Completely” providing a blend of energising and relaxing music. You select your option by sliding a controller with the shape of none other than a Princess ship.
The station features a wide range of artists, but the choice of music is nevertheless heavily inspired by the music of the sixties, seventies and eighties – eras that bring back happy memories for many of the cruise line’s passengers and which reminds them of events such as falling in love, marrying and seeing their children grow up.
The cruise line’s Vice President, Jan Swartz, said “Music is a powerful way to help people relax and escape into a different mindset. And so it seemed quite fitting for Princess to create an entire radio station around music that does just that.”
