Carnival Cruise Lines has partnered with Fox.
The Alvin and the Chipmunks third movie, titled ChipWrecked, is possibly helping Carnival out for 2012. Fox and Carnival joined together in order to provide the film and advertise the cruise line. Carnival used one of their newest ships for the film. Carnival CMO stated they do not start a new year without a strategy. It just happened that Fox wanted to create a film where the Chipmunks would be stranded, after being on a cruise. The film has already been released in the USA and will most likely entice many children around the world to want to take part in a cruise holiday just to be like the Chipmunks.
Fox was also able to expand their film promotions due to the advertising deal as film producers did not limit advertising to cruise ships. They also used branding of other areas to help promote places around the world. The new Sherlock movie also helped promote some of the most popular global destinations, such as Paris and Switzerland.
The combination of films helps bring to mind some of the holidays one can have. Carnival is one of the family cruise lines, whereas Royal Caribbean tends to be for the more mature set. Disney is another cruise line for families, where holidaymakers can enjoy seeing their favourite cartoon characters and eat plenty of great food. Cruises can take you to America, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East, or closer to home with destinations around Europe.
