Norwegian Cruise Lines will have four cruise ships plying European waters in the summer of 2013. Two of them will be based in the region year-round in future.
In the Baltics, Norwegian Sun will be replaced by Norwegian Star. This move will significantly increase the cruise line’s capacity in this ever-popular region. Other highlights include the introduction of seven-night cruises between Vancouver in British Columbia and Whittier in Alaska. The company will also introduce a third cruise liner to the Alaskan region.
Francis Riley, the VP of Norwegian Cruise Lines, said “2013 is going to be the first full year with having two ships in Europe year-round. This combined with the increased capacity in the Baltic with the Norwegian Star and the return of the popular Norwegian Epic in the Mediterranean sets the basis for further growth in the UK and Europe.”
Norwegian Epic will return to the Western Mediterranean for her third season in 2013, offering a range of seven-night cruises from Barcelona. These cruises will visit Italy, Spain, France and Palma in Majorca.
Norwegian Star will sail her inaugural season in the Baltic in 2013 with a series of ten-day Baltic Capital cruises embarking from Copenhagen in Denmark. Highlights include two days in St. Petersburg and a cruise of the Stockholm Archipelago.
Norwegian Jade will once again sail from Venice from the 4th May 2013. She will embark on cruises to the Greek Islands, the Adriatic and Turkey.
Norwegian Spirit will return to Barcelona on the 17th April 2013, from where she will offer 12-night Grand Mediterranean journeys until the 14th October 2013.
