P&O Oriana was recently welcomed back in Southampton after it spent a month in the dry dock. A major refurbishment saw the addition of more cabins and specialty restaurants. The cruise liner will, in future, only accept adult passengers.
During the refit 27 new cabins were added and the ship now also has an Ocean Grill Restaurant by Marco Pierre White – which proved hugely popular on the cruise line’s other ship, Adonia.
A few other changes you will notice next time you cruise on board Adonia include:
• A new Italian restaurant called Sorrento, also similar to that on Adonia, except that this one has an outdoor dining section.
• The aft deck has been redesigned and now features a bar.
• The decorations in the Oasis Spa and in most public areas have been upgraded.
• The Oasis Spa now features a dedicated aerobics section and thermal loungers.
• The Al Fresco Mediterranean Cafe has a brand new look.
Oriana departed on the 19th December on an 18-day Christmas and New Year cruise to the Western Mediterranean after which it will leave on a 98-day world cruise on the 5th January.
Carol Marlow, the Managing Director of P&O Cruises, said “It is wonderful to welcome Oriana back into the fleet today with a fresh new look including new cabins, new dining options and all exclusively for adults.”
She added that after being named by the Queen in 1995, Oriana had transported hundreds of thousands of Britons to destinations around the world. All those people will no doubt love the ship’s new appearance.
