Alaska is a wonderful state to visit on a cruise, in order to experience new things.
Alaska may not be on your list of holiday places but perhaps you would like to think again, as Alaska offers something far different from the UK. In the Southeast you have the Temperate Rainforest turning everything beautifully green, and in summer when Princess Cruises frequents it, it is possible to see Orca, Humpback Whales, Otters, Sea Lions and many other wild animals.
Juneau, the capital is often the first stop on the inside passage, but sometimes you may find yourself in Sitka. Sitka was founded by the Russians, so it has a distinctly Russian vibe about it with various buildings of Russian architecture. Juneau, the capital, offers cruise passengers the chance to experience the Red Dog Saloon, helicopter rides over Mendenhall Glacier, and a friendly frontier atmosphere.
The Princess cruise line was recently named the best for Alaska travel. Royal Caribbean, Disney and several other cruise lines also frequent the inside passage leaving from Seattle, Washington to travel up through British Columbia before heading to Alaska. Princess cruise lines has offered cruises to Alaska for more than 40 years, including their inside passage tour, which leads to the Denali National Park by way of a rail car. To see what the North American frontier used to be a hundred or so years ago, all you have to do is visit some of the spectacular locations in Alaska. The state is still truly the “last frontier” of the United States and worth at least one visit in your life.
