If you’re a regular guest on board Royal Caribbean you have all the more reason to raise your glass. The cruise line has introduced a new 48-bottle WineStation system, which means that the company now boasts a state-of-the-art automated wine serving system on board both Liberty of the Seas and Freedom of the Seas in the Vintages Wine Bar.
All you need to savour, sip or swirl some of the world’s top wines is to swipe your Sea Pass card. The intelligent and fully automated WineStation system will do the rest.
The Director of Beverage Operations of Royal Caribbean, Bob Midyette, said “The WineStation has become a very successful option to help our guests explore wines on their own, or with one of our knowledgeable, friendly and engaging wine tenders.”
He added that Royal Caribbean was perpetually seeking new and better ways to provide passengers with an unequalled cruise holiday experience. The WineStation system will most likely be offered on more ships in the future.
The WineStation is able to preserve wine for two months and every bottle is kept temperature controlled. It gives guests the opportunity to buy glasses, half glasses and even taste portions of wines that would normally not be available by the glass, such as Caumus, Chateau Lafite Rothschild, Torres, Penfolds and Robert Mondavi. The LCD screens are easy to read and clearly show the year, varietal and region of the wine.
The Co-founder of Napa Technology, Nick Moezidis, said “We are pleased to partner with an industry leader who is committed to fine wine service.”
