New England and Canada itineraries are known for their stunning scenery, historic seaports and culinary delights. This year (2012) Holland America line will offer no less than 27 departures to ports along the North American east coast on three cruise ships: ms Eurodam, ms Maasdam and Ms Veendam.
These cruises are scheduled for the summer and autumn months between May and October. They range between seven and 15 days in duration. The autumn cruises are especially popular since they visit the region during that magical part of the year when leaves change to vibrant shades of orange, red and gold.
Ms Veendam will be repositioned to this region later in the year, increasing the cruise line’s capacity and enabling more cruise lovers to experience one of the most impressive showings in nature.
The Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Guest Programmes at the Holland America Line, Richard Meadows, said “Our Canada/New England itineraries are always popular, and by adding Veendam to the area during the fall foliage season more travellers are able to see this beautiful region during this special time of year.”
The season will kick off with Maasdam embarking on a 14-night northbound cruise from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Quebec and Montreal in Canada. Ports of call include Newport, Charleston, Halifax and Sydney, Bar Harbour, Charlottetown, Nova Scotia, Gaspe and Sept-Iles, Prince Edward Island, Quebec City – where the ship will overnight – and the final destination, Montreal.
