Windstar Cruises has announced major upgrades to its luxury cruising yachts Wind Spirit, Wind Surf and Wind Star.
The renovations form part of the company’s previously announced upgrade programme of $18 million. The aim with the programme is to further improve the level of style and luxury offered by the brand, bringing it even closer to what the company calls a “boutique yacht vacation that is 180 degrees from ordinary.”
Each yacht will receive new upholstery, furniture, lighting, art, carpeting, wall coverings, window treatments, ceiling finishes and floor coverings. The chic private yacht ambiance will be further enhanced by a combination of marine and sand colours that form an elegant contrast with the dark wooden finishes.
All cabins will get stately armchairs, leather headboards, new lighting features, linen wall coverings, plush wool carpeting, elegant window coverings, stylish bed cushions, new art work and luxurious bed throws.
Wind Star will be the first one to boast her new look when she embarks on her European season towards the end of April 2012. All public spaces on board Wind Star will undergo a complete renovation before the start of her 2012 season, including the veranda, the restaurant, the Pool Bar, the lounge, the WindSpa and the library.
Using curved design elements and neutral, but luxurious tones the restaurant will be completely refurbished to give it an ambiance of drama and excitement appropriate for a one-of-a-kind destination restaurant.
By December the work on all three yachts should be completed.
