Comment:

Having been on the Queen Mary, last June. I was thinking that the Victoria would have been just as good. Sadly I was wrong. I felt the food and entertainment were not as good. The dining staff I felt were not as friendly or helpful. Felt they were all tense and it was hectic. The waiters were under pressure and I think it all stemmed from the horrid unfriendly, unhappy Head Waiter. Maybe they were under staffed. Our waiter was on his own most of the time. Only when some of the Americans complained  about how long everthing was taking did he get some help. I just felt that all the staff, bar staff included were not that happy in there jobs. So unlike the feelings we got from the staff, when we were on the Queen Mary.

One last thing, was how wobbly it was onthe Victoria. We had no rough seas but heard that lots of people had been in bed the first few days with seasickness. I think there was something wrong with the stablizers. It just seemed to roll a bit, so we spent he whole two weeks, walking as if we were a little drunk.

Anyway, give me the Queen Mary anytime. Think that is the only ship I would ever do an Atlantic crossing in. !st class for total stability.

The decor is lovely in both ships. The one thing I do not like about Cunard is the price of a glass of Wine, in the bar or at dinner. How can a pint of beer be cheaper than a smallish glass of wine.

We were hoping to go on the Queen Elizabeth but now not so bothered as I believe it is the same ship as the Victoria.

We have done at least one cruise with most cruise lines. So far my favorite is the Sapphire Princess (30 day). I am just about to go on a Celebrity (Solistice) in May. Read good things so hope it will also be a favorite.

Happy sailing. Carol M.
