A great cruise to Alaska from Vancouver, then a few days in Vancouver before travelling on the Rocky Mountaineer railway for two days to Banff.  After three days in Banff, home via Calgary.

Holland America's ship the Zuiderdam is great, dining good, and facilities are fine, although probably getting ready for a update in places.  Didn't like the $11 per person per day gratutity charge to the onboard account and then service charges added to all drinks bills - quite a liberty! Rocky Mountaineer train was good too - maybe would have been better upgrading from red to gold for panoramic views and better dining facilities.  Hotel accomodation adequate  about 3 star, no frills. Thomas Cook filights good overall except seat pitch on outward flight was very short (Return flight on new plane - seat pitch excellent.   Overall great holiday.
