Comment:
I have just come back of the Fantasia and enjoyed the cruise with some minor faults. The ship is spotless and cabins as good as any I have been on. The food is subjective as it is heavily influenced by Italian culture( smaller portions but lots of them ,less meat and more pasta)but great ice cream and sorbet to finish. There has been lots said regarding MSC coffee and water policy that has to be purchased with dinner, but its nice to have chilled sparkling water with a meal just so long as you are aware before you travel. The shows of an evening were mixed(it took 10 minutes at the start to get through the different languages)some were poor and others very good, especially the Michael Jackson show.
There was little to do during the day in comparison with other cruises I have been on partly due to the language barrier and the fact that the covered swimming pool was either filled with sea water and cold or left empty. We missed Gibraltar with no mention why and in the rest of the ports we took the shuttle and did on our own thing as we had been before. I could not understand why we were charged 8 Euros in Malaga to go from the terminal building to dock gates yet was free in Cir----,but assume it was the port not MSC pricing.
The biggest factor was the few English speaking people on board, and if on your own could have problems sharing a table, but as we went with friends we had a good cruise and if the price was right go again.
