Comment:
We cruised the Baltic on MSC Orchestra through Kiel, Stockholm, Tallinn, and Saint Petersburg. This is our fourth cruise. Our last cruise was in Alaska with RCI. We flew into Copenhagen and spent a day looking around the lovely city embark next day and I must say I am very impressed with the embarking process which was very easy. Once we are on the sip we found the ship was absolutely beautiful! Everything was well maintained. The cleanness of the ship was equally better as RCI. The outside room with balcony on 11th floor was very nice. Some might find it a bit small, but remember you are on a cruise ship with almost 2.600 passengers. The room was kept very clean with two times a day towel shifts etc. Being A Italian cruise line the food on Orchestra was more Europeanized. It is lighter in taste, lighter in salt content, and healthier. What we do not like about the dining, is the crowdedness of the dining area during breakfast and lunch buffet. The dinner seating was fine. The bottle water costs 3.5 Euro so I asked for ice water which was free. I could not justly spending $5 for a bottle of water. The swimming pools were too small and seemed to be for the children on board. However, I always found room in the group of hot tubs they offered. The ship crew understands and speaks English and the crew tried very hard to please the passengers. The entertainment was pretty good. Since the population was very mixed on the ship, there were no comedy shows! The dancers were very professional. The Irish dance was fantastic! The shows were 30~45 minutes. Italian opera combined with classic pop music made the shows memorable. Regarding the Port of Call, the ship makes a stop in Kiel, primarily to pick up German cruisers. Over half of the passengers on the ship are German. I wish they can make the stop in Helsinki instead of Kiel. St. Petersburg was the best of itinerary you really need a whole week in St. Petersburg to discover the city.
