Comment:
This was my first ever cruise, worst and last with Thomson cruises..This was a present for my wife and I booked as a surprise. This was on the celebration from Harwich to Amsterdam and Zeebrugge(Bruges). All started well cabin was 6/7 deluxe, gifts in room were all there(flowers, chocolates and champagne) was excited and had a good walk round to check out the facilities. We went to dinner and was seated with some seasonal cruisers who gave us some lovely advice and happy stories of cruises that they had been on...That evening myself and my wife went to the disco which was ok for a disco. arrived in Amsterdam the following morning and got up for breakfast which filled a gap. staff in dining area were pleasant and helpful. Amsterdam was great and we did loads, canal tours, visit crazy coffee shops and even did the red light district at my wifes inquisitive request.. Ship didn't sailing till late that evening which was good. next morning woke early and watched us come in to port on the cabin tv which was interesting. But this is where it all started to go pear shaped. There was no transport to Bruges from Zeebrugge so had to walk quite some way to get a tram to Bruges. While there had a great time and of course abought chocolates. When we got back to ship we were told we would be leaving late because of some difficulties. So while we went down to the enterntainment in one of the bars we got annoucement that we would be not leaving till the morning, so had to call home to rearrange childcare..next morning were told would be staying another night because of more difficulties. Never were told what was really going on or the likelyhood of leaving, plus mobile credit ran out and had to use satilite phone to sort out home arrangements, and thomsons had the cheek to try and charge us for the phone..the staff become unhelpful and just so unorganized. They didn't have any plans in place for such a problem and just repeated the same entertainment that had been shown the night before and didn't even give us a complimentary drink. Would never, every book a thomson cruise again
