This is our most exciting holiday, taking in the USA from West Coast to East Coast including 3 of the biggest cities in the States: San Francisco, Chicago & New York. Plus an elegant Cunard Queen Mary 2 cruise back to the U.K. All of this with just one direct flight to San Francisco.

Choose Westbound: to start your holiday on the Queen Mary 2, casting off from Southampton. With an extra hour during 5 of your days at sea you will enjoy even more time on board, and you will arrive in tune with local time in New York. Be sure to get up early on arrival in New York harbour to greet the Statue of Liberty as the ship glides past, and watch the sun rise above the iconic New York skyline. This early morning arrival in New York means you will be able to take advantage of the maximum time to enjoy all this wonderful city has to offer.

Choose Eastbound: Get the flying out of the way at the start of your holiday. Shop your way across the USA and take advantage of the bargains on offer. Then relax on a voyage back to the UK without being limited to 23KG luggage, a cramped overnight flight home, and best of all, no jetlag.

SAN FRANCISCO: Your Hotel will be centrally located in Union Square close to shops and restaurants. From here the cable car will take you over the hill past China Town to Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39. A visit to Alcatraz is a must, then have a photo opportunity at the Golden Gate Bridge and take a stroll in Golden Gate Park. For a more local feel visit the Castro area and for some vintage shopping visit hippy Haight Ashbury.

AMTRAK TRAIN: The views from the train of the ever changing scenery are breathtaking - providing a relaxing and scenic way to travel across the continent in comfort. You will have a private roomette on board the train with full board meals - the train will have a lounge car with bar and dining car for your use. Your 3 night Trans America train adventure is in two parts. The 2 night part includes Sacramento, Salt Lake City, the Rockies, Denver & the Kansas plains. All change in Chicago at the famous Union Station where you will have the morning at leisure(Westbound) or afternoon at leisure(Eastbound) to explore the so called Windy City. The 1 night leg between Chicago and New York includes Indiana, Ohio, skirting the Great Lakes, Cleveland and Buffalo.

EASTBOUND on Queen Mary 2: Fly direct to San Francisco for 3 nights hotel stay. Board AMTRAK train for a 2-night journey on full board in a private roomette over the Rockies and to Chicago via Kansas. Spend the afternoon at leisure in Chicago. Board AMTRAK train for overnight journey via the Great Lakes and Buffalo to New York. 3 Nights hotel stay in New York. Then cruise for 7 nights back to Southampton on board Cunard Queen Mary 2. Plus we have a departure on Cunard Queen Victoria on 7th March which includes 8 nights on board.

WESTBOUND on Queen Mary 2: Operates in reverse with a 7-night voyage from Southampton to New York, the morning at leisure in Chicago and a direct overnight flight home from San Francisco.PLYS we have a departure on Cunard Queen Elizabeth on 10th January which inckludes 8 nights in board.
