Aloha! What can we say about Hawaii that hasn’t already been said about this much-loved paradise on Earth? Its iconic beaches, iridescent turquoise oceans, friendly local people and stunning natural beauty keep it at the top of the world’s favourite destinations for cruise packages – and it’s an honour that’s well deserved. But despite its enduring popularity with happy holidaymakers, in some places it’s still possible to feel like you’ve discovered your very own piece of picturesque paradise.
Discover the Natural Hidden Gems on our Cruise Packages
Jetline has created a range of bespoke cruise packages that ensure you’ll be able to make the most out of this exotic destination. Here are a few of the hidden natural gems you’ll be able to visit in person on shore excursions.
Manoa Cliff, Honolulu
Even if you’re only feeling mildly energetic, you’ll be able to enjoy the delights of this short loop trail on the beautiful island of Oahu. As the name suggests, the hike follows the cliffs that overlook the Manoa Valley, then gently ascends as you pass Tantalus Crater and the Pauoa Valley. It’s a gorgeous location that sees you encounter a true cross-section of the landscape; you’ll see swamp mahogany forests, soaring bamboo groves, groves of guava trees and other lush native vegetation.
If you’ve got the time you can do the entire loop, or peel off at various points to join other trails, including the one that leads you to the stunning Manoa Waterfall. The trail will take you anything from 1.5 to 4 hours, depending on how far you want to walk, so it’s the perfect activity for a shore excursion.
