Greek Island hopping throughout the Eastern Med from either Rome, Athens, Istanbul or Venice is the best way to see this holiday paradise - just a short haul flight away from the UK. Unrivalled cuisine, incredible beaches , history that dates back to the time of the Pharoahs and wonders of the ancient world - make Greece and her islands a fashionable summer holiday. 

Visit the the emerald green ports of the Ioanian Islands, just the bottom of the Adriatic and bordering Albania. The Blue Caves and Captain Korelli's mandolin beckon in Kefalonia. The cypress trees of Corfu is the land of choice for the famous zoologist Gerald Durrell and his famous tales of my family and other animals. While Zante (or Zakynthyos) offers shipwreck beach and short hop over to the Pelopponese mainland for Katakolon and ancient Olympia.

The Cyclades Islands in the central Aegean neighbours Athens and offers the powerful sunsets of Santorini with its legend of Atlantis; and the cosmopolitan beaches of Mykonos. 

Over to the east - just off the coast of Turkey lies the Dodecanese Islands of Kos, Nissiros and the sea sponge capital of Samos. Also the mighty holiday island of Rhodes where the Colossus of Rhodes once stood astride Mandraki Harbour.

Furthest south lies the largest island of them all - Crete. Here the Minoan civilisation flourished 5000-years BC and bore the myth of the Minotaur and the Labyrinth at the Palace of Knossos just outside the capital - Heraklion.
