Discover the raw beauty at the end of the earth. Cruise the Falkland Islands/Islas Malvinas, Cape Horn, and the Strait of Magellan from Santiago. Overnight in Buenos Aires. Oosterdam, our second Vista Class ship, brings high style to the high seas with thoughtful upgrades and stunning artwork. Guests will have plenty to do on board when not taking in expansive views or stretching out in spacious staterooms.
Bed and Breakfast
A 2-minute walk from Los Leones metro station, this genteel hotel is a 10-minute walk from shopping and entertainment at Costanera Center, and 7 km from hiking and a zoo on San Cristóbal Hill. The casual rooms offer Wi-Fi, flat-screens and safes, plus minibars and iPod docks. Upgraded rooms add seating areas and tea and coffeemaking facilities. Suites feature separate living areas. A breakfast buffet is offered. There's also a refined restaurant and a lobby bar, as well as an indoor pool, a gym and a sauna. Other amenities include a business center and meeting space. Parking is available.
Holland America Line
Plenty of features onboard Holland America's Oosterdam might elicit an "ooh" along with an "aah," but the name of the ship is pronounced OH-sterdam. The pronunciation is just about the only thing that remains Dutch about the ship, as the line has done away with Royal Dutch High Tea and, rather than a Dutch cafe, the ship sports a modern coffee bar. Despite a soft spot for tradition, Holland America is updating its ships to keep up with modern times, and Oosterdam is no exception. With craft cocktails in the Gallery Bar, fresh seafood at Rudi's Sel de Mer pop-up restaurant and the irresistible charisma of B.B. King's Blues Club, Holland America's new touches have breathed fresh life into this ship in exciting ways.
Stateroom
Inside cabins on Oosterdam include a standard category, beginning at 151 square feet, and a large interior cabin category, which can measure up to 233 square feet. Inside cabins can accommodate up to a queen-sized bed, but only offer showers in the bathroom and no bathtubs.
Dining onboard
Vista Dining Room (Decks 2 and 3): Oosterdam's main dining venue is a bit nondescript -- there are paintings of fruit, giant vases of roses, a spiral staircase that leads to the second deck in the middle of the room and metallic sculptures (truthfully, rather strange) on the ceiling. But, the venue delivers where it counts, in the variety and quality of the offerings, as well as the friendly service. Having had a cup of premium brand Harney & Sons tea in a specialty restaurant, our request for that brand, not usually available in the dining room, was met with no hesitation.
Activities
Oosterdam's theater, a red-and-gold affair referred to as The Main Stage, spans three forward decks (1, 2 and 3). A troupe of onboard singers and dancers are on hand for song-and-dance shows in the evening. However, instead of being stilted, unique show concepts such as Musicology -- a performance that personifies musical instruments using playful choreography and stunning costumes -- gained our respect for its creative license and enthusiastic execution. Even on a cruise of fewer than seven nights, the evening entertainment was always different, with one night featuring comedy and magic showcasing a young, sardonic performer who seemed to win over audience skeptics with each passing trick and punchline.

Ushuaia, Argentina
Beagle Channel. This 150 mile long channel takes you through the Tierra del Fuego Archipelago of islands at the southern tip of South America, past Ushuaia in Argentina. The eastern end of the Channel forms the border between Chile and Argentina whilst the western end is entirely in Chile. It is only three miles wide at its widest point and so can be quite tricky for ships to negotiate. The Beagle Channel was named after the British ship Beagle, in which Charles Darwin explored the area (1833–34). Pay a visit to Ushuaia the southernmost city in the world, where dominating peaks loom on three sides

Port Stanley, Falkland Islands
Port Stanley is full of links to Britain, and is twinned with Whitby in Yorkshire- all of a sudden it seems as if you are back in Britain with red telephone and post boxes. The only difference being the colourful corrugated tin roofs on the buildings. This South Atlantic archipelago will always be associated with the 1982 war, but wildlife and rugged scenery are the main reasons to visit the islands. The Falklands are a compact group of more than 740 Islands, situated approximately 650 kilometres (400 miles) off the south-eastern tip of South America. The total land area is approximately 12,000 square km (4,700 square miles) comprising of mountain ranges and flat plains. The two main Islands are East Falkland and West Falkland. Mount Usborne on East Falkland is the highest peak at 705m (2,312 ft).

Constructed in 1928, Palacio Salvo is a historical landmark building done in a predominantly Italian Gothic-style, , it was the tallest building in South America, and still remains an iconic symbol of the city, even being depicted on many postcards. For a sweeping view of the city, take an elevator ride to the top of the palace, free of charge, and stop at Cafe Salvo on the ground level for an invigorating cappuccino.
